The warning signs look the same wherever you live: a musty smell that seems to drift from room to room. Humidity readings run higher than a dry Southern California day would suggest, and allergies flare up indoors, then settle down within minutes of stepping outside. Floors near an exterior wall sometimes feel cooler or slightly soft underfoot.
